Los Gatos-Saratoga Student/Staff Feedback on HAERT...

...definitely gave me validation. The questions are structured in such a way that when I click the boxes I say in my head that "wow that is exactly me". I definitely feel echoed and validated when doing the modules.

...provides quality information that I’ve both incorporated into my daily life and shared with my family. I even have sticky notes on my monitor to remind me of a few techniques I’ve learned!

...significantly increased my understanding of mental health and provided coping strategies that allow me to manage anxiety and create a healthier life.

…their Favorite Skills…

...Long exhale breath, the Pomodoro Technique, and positive self-talk

...Teaching how to control our emotions

...TIPP (class of tools when you get really upset)

…Visualization

...Radical Acceptance not just about being in certain situations that are uncomfortable but also about radically accepting who you are as a person and how there is no one like you and just embracing who you are.

…and Thoughts about HAERT Mental Wellness for Now and the Future

I’m really glad this resource was provided at this stage of my development; I’m mature enough to understand and engage in the content, and I’ve absorbed it early enough to use the techniques as I transition to adulthood. The HAERT program is a valuable resource for all students looking to understand and better manage their emotions. It improved my life, and I think it can improve the lives of others, too.

It is vital that we continue HAERT next year because it would truly allow us, students, to build on our knowledge on skill sets and coping mechanisms that we will use in the future and college.

Community Engagement

We are collaborating with Los Gatos HS Peer to Peer group Cats to Cats to provide Mental Health educational resources and other support for their website content.

We are also collaborating with Saratoga HS Wellness groups - including the Mental Health Initiative, the Healthy Living Club and the Wellness Center to support their live webinar program.

We have presented a Parent Education webinar for Saratoga HS and hope to schedule the same for Los Gatos HS soon. As an outcome, parent attendees were offered personal HAERT program accounts and some are now engaging in the curriculum to develop their own knowledge while supporting their students’ skill learning and usage.

We are connecting both schools with the City of Sunnyvale’s Youth Public Policy Institute Mental Health initiative to create a Bay Area wide youth support network.

Parent Access

We are delighted to provide parents access to the HAERT Curriculum.

If you are a parent or guardian, please send an email to hello@haertprogram.com with your name and email address as well as your students email address and school.
